Heston Advocates the Benefits of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) for Early Alzheimer´s Detection
Los Angeles, Calif., November 21, 2002 - The Academy of Molecular Imaging (AMI) has released a public service announcement in which Charlton Heston advocates the use of Positron Emission Tomography, or PET scans, for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer´s. Heston announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer´s, after a PET scan detected signs of the disease. The AMI is launching the PSA in November, which is National Alzheimer´s Awareness Month. (Complete Story)
